Visiting Tennessee

Tennessee, from the Mississippi River in the west  east to the Appalachian Mountains, offers residents and visitors a diversity of activities, events and attractions. Outdoors enthusiasts enjoy the Cherokee National Forest and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in eastern Tennessee. Nashville, the state capital sits in north central Tennessee surrounded by the Highland Rim. Memphis, the largest city in Tennessee, in the southwest corner of the state sits on the bluffs of the Mississippi River. Memphis' Beale Street is called the birthplace of the blues by many and Nashville is well-known as a mecca for country musicians and fans.

Knoxville in eastern Tennessee is home to the Tennessee Valley Fair. A traditional country fair celebrating the agricultural heritage of the area.
